  • WhatsApp Web does not connect If WhatsApp Web keeps trying to connect, check the computer's connection and relink the session from Linked devices on your phone. Guide: ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
  • Calls drop when the network changes WhatsApp voice and video calls can drop when your phone switches between Wi-Fi and mobile data during the call. Guide: ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED
  • WhatsApp blocked on this network Some workplace and public networks block WhatsApp connections, so test on mobile data to see whether the network is the cause. Guide: ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
  • Media does not download If WhatsApp photos or videos will not download, check free storage on your phone and the media auto-download settings.
  • Backup does not finish WhatsApp chat backups go to your Google Account on Android or to iCloud on iPhone and need enough free space there, so check the space and your connection before retrying.

General fixes: Messaging

  1. Read the delivery marks Messaging apps show whether a message has left your device. A clock or a single mark means it is still waiting for your connection or the other person's.
  2. Allow background data Battery and data savers on phones can pause messaging apps in the background. Allow background data for the app so messages arrive on time.
  3. Relink desktop and web apps Desktop and web versions are linked to your phone. If they stop updating, unlink them and link them again from the phone app.
  4. Free up storage Photos, videos and voice messages need free space on the device. A full phone can make downloads and backups fail.
