  • App stuck on connecting When Telegram shows Connecting for a long time, the network may block Telegram's servers, so compare Wi-Fi with mobile data or review the proxy settings in the app. Guide: ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
  • Messages stuck on sending Telegram messages with a clock icon are waiting for a connection, which can happen after a switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, and they send once the connection is stable. Guide: ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED
  • Website cannot be found If telegram.org or web.telegram.org cannot be found on a network, that network's DNS may block Telegram, so test with mobile data. Guide: ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED
  • Media does not download Telegram may skip media when automatic downloads are limited on mobile data or when device storage is full, so check both in the app and phone settings.
  • Login code does not arrive If you are logged in to Telegram on another device, Telegram may send the login code there instead of by SMS, so check your other devices first.

General fixes: Messaging

  1. Read the delivery marks Messaging apps show whether a message has left your device. A clock or a single mark means it is still waiting for your connection or the other person's.
  2. Allow background data Battery and data savers on phones can pause messaging apps in the background. Allow background data for the app so messages arrive on time.
  3. Relink desktop and web apps Desktop and web versions are linked to your phone. If they stop updating, unlink them and link them again from the phone app.
  4. Free up storage Photos, videos and voice messages need free space on the device. A full phone can make downloads and backups fail.
