About Minecraft problems

Minecraft problems can affect sign-in, joining multiplayer servers, Realms or the Marketplace. Minecraft accounts sign in with a Microsoft account, so a Microsoft sign-in problem also blocks the game. If only one multiplayer server fails, the cause is more likely that server than Minecraft itself.

How this check works

  • One measurement location (single-self-hosted-probe), not a worldwide test.
  • We read only the response headers of the HTTPS homepage; page content and features are not tested.
  • We follow at most 5 HTTPS redirects and check every new address again.
  • The whole check stops after 10 seconds.
  • Results are reused for 60 seconds; this page refreshes its saved check at most every 10 minutes.

Typical Minecraft problems

General fixes: Gaming

  1. Check the game and the platform Online play can depend on the game's own servers and on the platform, such as PlayStation Network, Xbox or Steam. Check both where a status page exists.
  2. Restart the console and router Turn the console or PC and the router off, wait briefly and turn them on again. This renews the network connection.
  3. Run the network test Consoles and launchers have a built-in connection test that shows your NAT type. A strict NAT can block multiplayer even when the internet works.
  4. Let updates finish Games and launchers can require an update before you can sign in. Let downloads and patches finish before you try to play.
